Principal Architect & Technical Leader

Where engineering
strategy meets
commercial reality.

Most technical leaders see the system. I see the system, the business it serves, and the conversation that needs to happen between them. I have designed event-driven platforms for regulated financial institutions, shaped architecture across 10+ team engineering organisations, and spent eight years as the technical face of an enterprise software company across two continents.

01

Commercial fluency

Eight years embedded in enterprise sales motions across the Americas and Europe: discovery, POCs, RFPs, and architecture reviews at CIO/CTO level. I know how to position technology to move deals forward, and where technical decisions become commercial risk.

02

Business and software, aligned

Software that isn't grounded in business reality becomes a liability. Business strategy that ignores technical constraints fails in execution. I have spent my career closing that gap: designing systems that serve the business they run on, and making sure both sides understand why.

03

Technical credibility

15+ years in distributed systems, event-driven architecture, and domain-driven design. Enough depth to ask the right questions, spot the gaps in a proposal, and know when the engineers are right and the business needs to listen.

I'm Dutch, based in Amsterdam, and spent five years living and working in Mexico City. I hold Mexican Permanent Resident status and maintain an active client portfolio across Latin America.

I work fluently in English, Dutch, and Spanish. I'm comfortable at the board table and in the codebase, and I move between them without losing context in either direction.

I hold an MSc in Computer Science from Delft University of Technology. I run my independent architecture practice serving enterprises and scale-ups across Europe and the Americas.
